Anybody try this out?

I'd like to hear from Mythic how they expect anybody to be able to collect ~6.5M stone for the highest level upgrades? Are you expecting that somebody is going to buy all that stone?

Yes and it hurt! Luckily it was a lower level door. Also please note that none of the time is credited when you relaunch your upgrade. The good news is that there is a confirmation box without a timer as well, so no accidental cancellations will happen.

Does the penalty apply to Minion Training too?

Yes. Though I have not confirmed if the time is also effected. I suppose the timer would start over at the beginning as well for cancelling and restarting. You get the same exact pop up confirmation box as with a trap or room cancellation.

Hey Mythic. Can we at least get credited for time spent in the upgrade process, or would keeping track of every object's state present too much overhead (serious question here. I don't know what that would do to bloat things. Anyone smarter than me know anything?)

That'd actually make the resource loss pretty alright even if you needed to collect the full amount to resume work.

They used to track how far through the upgrade you were and provide a certain amount of time credit.

Also, at this point, I have turned off autoupdating on my phone, and probably will stick with the older version for as long as possible. No way I can save the kind of money that this patch requires.

Will the devs consider reversing the penalty for cancelling upgrades?

Okay, this change to hiding resources is fine, but you have to change raiding to go along with it. A failed raid needs to plunder ZERO resources.
