Update: Our investigation has yet to yield the culprit. While it is possible this was caused by a process dying somewhere in the chain, my gut tells me we haven't seen the last of this issue.
In the event that we have not identified any bug before the next Tournament, we'll be monitoring it closely and, if there are any more cases of it, that may help us track down what is happening.
Once we can safely rely on Tournament stability, the plan right now is to significantly increase the Gems and Dreadstone payouts for the subsequent Tournament as compensation. More info on this to follow, but right now our main priority is still restoring Tournament stability. I will make a follow-up post once we have more information.
